Bill has been married to his wife, Christy Cutler, for over 31 years. Christy (who worked in the field of child abuse prevention from 1971 to 1981) and started “Children’s Dance Place” in 1986 to teach creative movement to children from 18 months to 8 years of age. In 2012, Christy was certified as a Feldenkrais practitioner---one who can help us all with our aches and pains. We have two children (Anna, 30 and Andrew, 27) who have both been out of the nest for a while. Anna is pursuing a career in performance art (theater, dance, aerial fabric) in Santa Monica, California while teaching. Andrew is in the middle of a graduate program in Grand Junction, Colorado, which will lead to a master’s degree in education and a certificate to teach high school science (Obviously, he got Christy’s genes—not mine).
Christy is a native of Colorado and I moved here in 1974 to start practicing law. My first job (1974 to 1978) was with a large Denver firm. From 1978 to 1981, I was an Assistant Attorney General for Colorado. That was followed by over 30 years in private practice with my own firm. Two years ago I joined a new law firm---Heizer Paul Grueskin--- and continue to specialize in working with nonprofit organizations, trade associations and providing antitrust advice and counsel. One of my current partners was also in the Senior Class play “The Night of January 16th.” My bar association activities have included service as President of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations as well as Colorado Continuing Legal Education. The highlight of my pro bono legal career was opening the Boys Clubs of Denver to girls as well as boys. I have also chaired the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado (which supports legal services for low income families) and the Colorado Bar’s Task Force to Prevent Family Violence. I cannot believe it has been 50 years since we graduated from Bartow Senior High School. We have so many memories and friendships. Thank you everyone.
