Ocala - Samuel Tolbert Murphy, 61, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2007. He was born on October 6, 1945 in Petersburg, Virginia, and grew up in Lakeland and Bartow, Florida. He was a resident of Ocala for the past 19 years. Sam was a retired corrugated packaging salesman and was an avid aviation enthusiast. He was an active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Ocala Flying Model Club, and was a licensed amateur radio operator. Sam was a Mason and a member of the Episcopal Church. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Cheryl Glasscock Murphy, of Ocala; his daughter, Melody Murphy, of Ocala; his mother, Mae Murphy Owens; of Bartow; and many friends and family members. A public memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 6 at 12:30 p.m. at the OFMC airfield, 1020 SE 110th Street, Ocala.
