Since retirement I’ve been writing my memoirs about being a Psychologist for 35+ years, as a University Professor, USAF Officer (Lt. Col. Retired), Psychotherapist, Researcher (Kaiser Work Stress Grant), Media Psychologist (TV, Radio, Newspapers & Magazines), Editor and Workshop Presenter (17 in various states).

THIS YEAR - 2024 - I MARRIED TOM

Above is a picture of Tom and I jumping over the broom at the ceremony in Colorado attended by all Tom's kith and kin who came from 11 states. We've known each other since 1980 as colleagues and friends but hadn't seen each other for 30 years and only reconnected after he was widowed in 2020.

Tom used the phrase "jumping over the broom" after his proposal (on Father's Day last year) that I said we had to jump over a real broom at the community center known as The Barn, near his home in Colorado. Our (Lutheran) pastor had been presented with a rhinestone (crystal) collar and cowboy hat for her 20th anniversary at her church in Modesto so I said we all had to wear cowboy hats and Tom had to dress up like Bat Masterson with a western bow tie and black boots. One of his singing buddies caught us in midair at the very moment. As the ceremony took place on Cinco de Mayo, we had it catered for 52 by his favorite Mexican restaurant, La Casa Fiesta. We wanted it to be a party for everyone and a venue for everyone to reconnect. Thanks for adding it to our class profiles and showing that amazing things can still happen at our time of life. We both feel blessed to have found another love at this age. Right now, we're keeping both our houses in CA and CO, going back and forth. We hope to make one of those get-together lunches in Bartow for our class.Hugs to all! - Kris & Tom
